b20 or b18c?????
go to CRVTEC.com
even the proponents of the motor itself would rather sleeve, bore and build a B18C block. if you are wanting reliablity and a low rev limit with still great power.... go with a vtec head and stock B20 block. dont expect high revs high power from that block unless you build it and that will take you a while to procure all the parts to do that build. I hope your Dr. Frankenstien knows his stuff... there are alot of crappily done VTEC conversions out there that dont last. They are awesome if done right so you decide

Unless you have lots of time and money, build the B18C...I'm in the process of a semi-building a B20 non-vtec ...for the same money you should be able to find a nice b18c swap I would think...plus it's already built for high revs...
Alot depends on your cash flow situation. You can get a B20 for alot less than a B18C. Even if you get bolt-ons, a Skunk2 manifold, cams, and do some mild port work on a non-VTEC motor, you are far ahead of a stock B18C in terms of power, torque, and cash. But if you do the same things to the B18C, you can show the B20 guy that sometimes, there is replacement for displacement! The choice is yours.

I thought long and hard about either going b20 or b18c and I'm going b18c for a couple of reason. One was trying to source all these parts axles, shift linkage, motor, tranny, and misc. Sure the motor is 800, a gsr tranny 1000 plus everything else with shipping. To me it wasn't as cheap as I expected. It sometimes seemed cheaper to just buy a b16a2 swap for 2200 and then also buy the b20for 800 = 3000. Then wait what also equals 3000 now at nippon=the b18c.
