okay i did search but this damn worm i got off the net is not allowing me to open certain windows. anyway, i heard that many people after changing from honda MTF or regular oil to GM Synchro Mesh tranny fluid did not have grinding anymore going into 3rd gear from 2nd at higher rpms. does anyone know where i can get some of this stuff to try out??

yeah GM is the only place you can get it...and most likely your problem is your synchros and fluid is not going to fix bad synchros....Synchromesh is expensinve and I wouldn't even waste the money on it cuz it's not going to fix your problem...just double clutch coming out and going into those gears...

yes it's expensive...i think someone said it's something like $7-$8 a quart, but at least it'd give me a piece of mind. this is just till i can buy a new tranny. anyway, thank you for replying...i'll try double clutching from 2nd to 3rd, never done it before but i'll try to learn.

 

when I say double clutch I mean to push in the clutch for 2nd to neutral and again for neutral to 3rd....it's not hard....
