mine leaked just as you were describing. In order for me to stop the leaking i would have to tighten the oil filter REALLY tight. This wasn't that bad. It was removing it that was the bitch. The oil filter wrench couldn't hold the filter to break it loose. I would have to drive a screwdriver through the filter in order to loosen the filter. I have 3 of these filters with holes in them to show. I've tried different brands and that wasn't the problem either. I ended up getting rid of it and going back to a "T".

The o-ring this guy brought to us was destroyed. It had been pinched and cut and that was the source of the leak. These items need to be installed carefully and be sure the o-ring is not being squashed between the block and the sandwhich plate, and that the nut that holts the sandwich plate on is tight. Then the oil filter can be installed just as it always is. There are no issues when using this product correctly. We have used them and I just installed one onto my own car without any issues. If you need more detailed instruction for the install, please feel free to e-mail me at vince@goldeneaglemfg.com
Thanks.

Also, be sure where the leak may be coming from. If the sandwhich plate bolt is not tight, then it can leak from there. But if that is tight, then it really is no different that installing an oil filter.

One more thing, be sure the sandwich plate bolt is centered in the plate and is sitting flush with the plate. This will definately cause a leak if it is not centered, flush and tight. Also be sure the o-ring side of the plate faces the block.

We took a look at the unit and we found nothing to be wrong with it. C'mon people, it is an o-ring in an aluminum block. It was the same as the other 1000+ unit we have sold. We are not saying that it is his fault, but there must be something else wrong with the set-up. We looked at the unit 100% and found it to be free from ANY defects. He sent it back to Tom from Camp1320 and is getting a refund. Ask Camp1320 how many of these he has sold. Ask him if there have been ANY problems! This customer was very patient while Ted checked out the unit, and seemed to be knowledgable about his set-up. The only thing we found odd was that there was sealant used in the fitting for the VTEC, on ALL of our fitting that use an o-ring, they do not require ANY sealant. The o-ring seals it perfectly! We apologize for any trouble we caused and hope that you get it worked out.

are we supposed to put oil on the GE o-ring just like we are supposed to put oil on to the filter o-ring everytime we change it? i think that if he didn't that could damage the o-ring.

I was helping TurboXDC with the installation....We did everything correctly...Even followed the step by step instructions....I have no clue why its leaking...but its leaking...we spent three days trying to figure it out...The installation is a no-brainer...(A little advice to GE) I think your o-ring should extend further out just like the stock oil filters...The o-ring barely clears the Vtec unit...GE its just an advice...Hope you guys can do some improvements...
