golden eagle is screwing it up. PLEASE READ
i just put my ls/vtec in my car just not and went to prime the oil system and i looked at the botom of the car and tehre was a pile of oil. I look and the golden eagle adapter does seal with the oil filter. The adapter is snug to the block and the fillter was cranked on the whole way. There was still a gap and i was basically cranking dry.

well here it is and you can see that where the adapeter would be, the filter wont seal with it. did i get an old one? What is the problem?
first tighten the ge adapter thing, that you got screwed in your filter in the pic, then tighten your oil filter on it. you cant put the adapter on the filter then tighten it.

I have the GE block adpater on my GSR and it works fine. You can come look at it if you want.
Stupid question: Are you sure the adapter plate is installed the right direction? The O-ring side of the GE adapter is supposed to face the block. That will affect the depth the fitting sits in the adapter.

O.K. I have reviewed this thread and have taken a proactive look into it. Here is my conclusion!!!
I have purchased every filter I can find that cross referrences the honda replacement. Fram, Purolator, Factory Honda, K&N and others. The only way a gap can form between the filter and the sandwhich plate or block is if the sandwhich plate was installed in the opposite direction. The o-ring in the sandwhich plate should face the block and the filter should have the o-ring contact the sandwhich plate on the side that does not have an o-ring. IF the sandwhich plate is installed incorrectly, there WILL be a gap that can cause oil leakage. Make sure the o-ring on the sandwhich plate faces the block, then tighten it down. Then install your filter ( regardless of brand ). If this unit is installed correctly, it will work without any problems. Let me know your finings by e-mailing me at vince@goldeneaglemfg.com Thanks.

Don't use a FRAM filter! I have had several FRAM filters not screw on properly to my GSR block, always left a gap and left me with a nasty mess to clean up.
I have never had a problem with OEM or Mobil1 filters. Give that a shot.

I've used FRAM, Purolator, Honda.. never had a problem with any of these and the GE oil feeder.

not proud to admit it but i've used the same fram filter also without problems.
only time i had a problem was when i left part of the old oil filters gasket stuck to the block and it caused a leak.
$1 says this is user error and not a GE problem. i mean it could be, but if you know GE's former customers (military) then you that they know how to maintain tolerances and specs on parts.

haha, he installed it wrong
and what is wrong with peoples problem solving issues these days?
if you want to have help from Ge then dont say "golden eagle is screwing it up. PLEASE READ"
first that is the wrong tense of wording.
they have already screwed it up in his mind. they arent "screwing it up"
second its stupid to even blame the situation on someone else unless you are 100000% sure its their fault
people should say "im having problems installing my GE ls/vtec kit, help appreciated"
or he could call GE "gasp!!" and ask for some more assitance
or he could call whoever sold him the kit (if it wasnt purchased directly) and ask the person that sold it for some help. In my mind all vendors should be familar with the product they sell and know how to roughly install it.
good luck buddy on getting your thing setup!

This guy has posted on the other 2 threads he made about this that he solved the problem. Care to explain the situation to everyone? How was it solved?
i wasnt trying to blame you. It was not centered properly. The fitting slips into the piece with little margain, which is good. I wasnt the one to put this on my car. I was told it didnt fit. I figured it out though and it works great. Perfect for my setup
. Sorry.

i doubt its the exact same thing
might be done by the same company, but oem is usually made to different specs
if you tear open a common fram its usually pretty cheap built
there is better stuff out there

This is an interesting oil filter comparison site. One dudes opinion, but he back it up pretty well for the most part.

I found out the hard way (got disoriented when installing while upsidedown)..... turned engine on heard a loud "pop" oil everywhere (from the pressure)....
Removed flipped the opposite dir. then all was OK ....
However the "rubber" seal (facing the block) is showing signs of wear, as it will leak very tiny/minute droplet(s) of oil(comming from the seal facing the block & yes the tightness has been checked & was NOT overtightned), after a "quick run"
If you sell/offer a "seal" replacement I'll be a happy camper ....
