Default going nuts!! code 4 on obd1?

I have a 97gs integra with a 0bd2 to obd1 conversion harness running on a chipped p-28 ecu with a b18b chip. Also the car has a obd2 engine harness. So I just finished the swap start it up an. I see a cel so i jumped the wires an I get code 4. I thought code 4 was ckp for only obd2? Car runs fine execpt it won't go past 3.5k. So I turn the car off then turn it back on an the cel is off an the car revs normal. Turn car back on an cel is now back on. I just don't get it. Has anyone had this happen in the past? I've searched but all I get is threads that never were answered. Actually did the swap back in january an the car has been just sitting because I haven't got the time to bleed the clutch an all. Could anyone answer this?

That is a distributor code not the crank sensor by the crank.

I have an obd2 dizzy so wouldn't the dizzy not have a crank sensor in there? Or do I have to get an obd1 dizzy to make it work. On my old 98 gsr I converted it to obd1 an I used a obd2 dizzy.

Your ECU and DIzzy have to be the same OBD. Get an OBD1 distributor.

This statement is untrue! OBD2 dizzy with OBD1 ecu on all the ODB2 cars I've worked on, including mine.

Yes that statement is untrue. You can interchange OBD1/2 distributors with no issues. The issue comes with OBD0 and OBD1/2 ECUs and vice versa. Yes the OBD2 distributor has the same sensors inside. The only real difference between OBD1/2 is the plug style.

the only difference between vtec and nonvtec distributors is the ears placement.

pop that distributor on there if it fits, idk if any of the ears will be in the way

Are you sure it's the distributor that is bad? It could also be the ecu. I have thread related to this exact problem. Too lazy to find it but just look up my threads.

With the same ecu the type r engine I had in there before I no zero issues with it. Only thing that's weird is when you turn on the ignition without the engine on there is no check light on the dash like normal. Idk it could be bad but if it is I'm just pulling the engine an swapping in an h2b setup like I have planned a few months down the road. The ls engine is just a temp engine untill I get an h22 from from hmo. Gotta wait untill Tuesday to get a new dizzy because in order to swap out the internals I gotta swap everything like the coil an such. To much of a pain
