Default gauge question

i got a oil temp gauge from autometer and i didnt get any directions and everythin is hooked up except the oil temp wire and i dont know where to splice in the engine bay, pics would really help

ive got the positive and ground hooked up but i cant figure out where the oil temp wire connects (white and green) to.

Do you need a sender maybe? I don't believe stock motors have any way of monitoring oil temp.

you need to put a temp probe some where. oil pan, i think greddy makes a drain plug with the probe in it, etc. Then that goes to a sending unit which connects to your wire.

damn i just got the gauge didnt know there was supposed to be a probe thing, thought i could just splice into one of many wires in the engine bay, anyone have an oil temp gauge and how did theyres hook up? if i didnt get a probe or somthin xtra did i get fucked over?

autometer doesn't usually come with a probe you have to get them seperate but im pretty sure they sell them. i got defi gauges not an oil temp but everything comes with probes/sensors

Electric gauges come with the sending units. What part number did you buy? Look at these...they list that a sender unit is included.
