Oil temperature needle issue
Ok, so I installed a sandwich plate adapter inbetween my oil filter 2 days ago.
I installed the electrical sending peice for the gauge. Then I crimped the sending unit wire to a butt connector and secured it on the sender.
Then I ran the wire through the firewall, used a wirenut to connect the wire from the gauge to the sending wire, and hooked up the positive and negative wires to the gauge.
It is a Faze EL oil temp gauge.
Once I started the car, the needle automatically rose to 130F with the engine COLD.
Then, it just kept rising and rising until it hit the max at 280F. Literally, in 4-5 minutes. I know the oil is NOT that temperature. The head is barely hot.
What is weird is the constant raising of the needle when the car is idling.
I know the needle is off, and I cannot understand the problem here.
