1. fuel pump primes and delivers fuel to the fuel rail.
2. does not have power at the clips in the "on" position, only when cranking.
3. noid light flashes, but kinda slow...maybe 2 or 3 times per second.
4. did not test relay (pump primes and noid light flashes)
5. digital multimeter on DC. red lead on 12v+, black lead on each wire of the clip.
6. engine turned one revolution only after I switched the #4 injector wires around. when totally disconnected, cranked over fine.
7. yes i did.

By the way i did get it to start today. With #4 unhooked, #3 hooked to a 15 ohm injector not mounted in the head, and #2 and #1 left hooked up, it ran rough, but it ran (on two cylinders).

makes me wonder if the resistance plays a factor. the 240 cc injectors were 12 ohm, the 550 cc injectors are 13 ohm, the blue injectors that came with the clips from the junkyard are 15 ohms.

Only other thing i can think of is changing some setting on the s300 manager.
maybe not pulsing right. IDK. I might just put the 240 cc injectors back for now, but im not giving up. thirsty for knowledge now.

"does not have power at the clips in the "on" position, only when cranking"

That has me confused, there should be power at the injector clips when ign. switch is on, [run position] and what is real confusing is that the engine will run at all if there is no power at the injector clips when ign. switch is on.

I could see the engine starting when you crank it, "only when cranking" but it should then stall as soon as you release the key from the start position to the on. [run] position.

Are you sure there is no power to the injector clip when ign. switch is in the on, [run] position, or are you confusing on with acc.?

Position 0 = off.
Position I = accessory.
Position II = on or run.
Position III = start or crank.

Check the injectors, maybe one, [or more] of them is seized, plugged or shorted out.

If 2 of them will work "#2 and #1 left hooked up, it ran rough, but it ran" then the impedance id OK and maybe the other two are just N/G. 94

i am so glad you are on board with me picking my brain, 2nd opinions ar epriceless.
i did check the injectors again just now with the ignition in the run position. no power.
also i just tried to start it with only the #1 and #2 fi's hooked up... it started right up and kept running, so i got out of the car and attached #3 fi...no change ran a little better.
then while it was running, hooked up the #4 fi, no change.
im starting to think the tuning values are simply off, or the changes i made on the s300 didnt take. i need to turn off the closed loop when its running. i will keep you informed. hopefully this thread will be helpful to someone else in the future.

i replaced the main relay, and now it runs fine.
seems that i fried part of it when i went to probing injector wires.
just updating this thread, cuz i forgot.

That would've been my guess since two of your injectors had voltage and not the other two.sometimes using something small like a piece of wire or paper clip to back probe connectors is easier than shoving bulky test leads in them.
