why do you prefer and why, polyethylene or aluminum?

Assumption: that this is for a track car.

Why are you buying one. Fashion? Rules? Safety? If it's to potentially save your life, you'll get the best one there is, the one with all the approvals, SCCA, FIA, NHRA. Check out Fuel Safe's Pro-Cell line.

Anything else and either you can't afford a good one or pretend a bad accident can't happen.

It's kind of like asking "Should I get racing seat belts or is the stock 3-pt okay."

i'm buying one because i am re-doing my fuel system (pump, lines, filter, rail, injectors, regulator, standalone) and i thought that it might be a better option than welding a sump onto my stock gas tank. i like the fact that is saves weight, and allows the best situation for proper fuel delivery. the plans for my car are more street than strip but not a daily driver.
