Default Filter for velocity stack?

I have an rs akimoto velocity stack, 3 in tube - 7in horn. What can I use as a filter? There is no more room for anything else othr than homemade filtering. I was thinking of just using tightly wound chicken wire and wrap it all around the filter? Kind of ghetto but damn???

****, ANYTHING would work better than chicken wire... You're not worried about the big ****, you're worried about the little ****. Sand, dust, dirt, that's what tears the motor up, not bunnies and trees and ****.

you can sell me the velocity stack and get a regular filter!! I cant find one anywhere, where did you get it. The only thing I can think of is what my friend has, he put screen down inside at the base of the velocity stack, where the hose clamp is.

Using a filter kind of defeats the design.

I have an RS Akimoto velocity stack also with the 3" diameter and 7" horn.

I'm still looking for a good filter that i can wrap around the intake tube. Anyone have any good ideas...

bump

Maybe i should just take apart a K&N filter i have and wrap it around the tube, then put the stack and collar on???

Human skin works very well. Very breathable but the filtering is amazing. I think k&n was working on a filter like this.

There is a k&n filter that fits over the prototype racing velocity stack. If you have the summit racing/akimoto velocity stack, you are **** out of luck at finding a filter... as far as i know. If you have the prototype racing one, the part number for the k&n filter that fits is... RF-1043

I don't know what they're called, but home depot has these paint brushes with a gray sponge on the end; they sell the gray sponges in big thin squares by themselves. I hose clamp one of those on my IC end tank as a temporary filter when the turbo is removed.
