Default Filter inside the IACV?

i was wondering how important is the filter inside the IACV? as of right now, the iacv i have doesn't have the filter and i'm also having trouble installing it. anybody got any idea how to put it in or can i just leave it out?

the filter is a MUST i think! it plays the same role as your actual INTAKE,CAI, lets it breath smooth and keeps it from something getting stuck in there and chocking!

any idea of installing one because my iacv is missing the filter. i bought a new filter from honda dealership and having trouble putting it in.

why did you take it out? Are you haveing trouble because the filter is a little too big or what?

i didn't take it out. i bought the iacv missing the filter. the filter is a circle and so is the hole, but for some reason it doesn't fit if you just push it in. the hole might be a little too small, but not quite sure.

can you take a rubber mallet and tap it in?

some of them don't have the filter... the main reason for it is to keep carbon build-up off of the internals. but if it gets clogged or the idle starts screwing up just clean it out with some carb cleaner or brake parts cleaner. that should work fine.
