I recently got a totalled EX ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=831872 ) and I wanted to use the EX transmission with the D16Z6. My dad says the transmission is most likely fucked because the entire suspension was jammed back 6 inches or so. Would it be possible for me to swap the transaxles from my DX transmission or would I not even need to do this (in this case the transmission is fine)? ****... I may just have to use the piece of **** DX transmission.

 

I doubt the tranny is fucked, the axles can shift and bend so the tranny shoudl be fine. As for just swaping the axles I dont know, I'm a 4g guy and with our cars DX axles wont work with an EX/Si car as the spindles are different. Hopefully a 5th gen guy can help you on that.

 

Bump to the top. Yesterday I spun the axle connecting place on the transmission and it spun freely while the other side spun freely in the opposite direction, so that's a good sign.

 

just re-use your DX axles, and swap the tranny. no biggie.
