engine burning oil..

Default engine burning oil..

i just finished a engine rebiuld on my B16

stock block/sleaves
wiseco 81.5mm pistons
peak performance rods
ge block gaurd
acl race bearings.

how long does the breakin period take, and when does it stop burning oil?

how long has it been. it really should never burn any oil if all the clearances were right. what rings did u use

i used the rings in the wiseco piston kit, all clearances were perfect.
it only burns on decel, like blow by. the engine has about 900km's on it.

was the seals in the head replaced and the valve guides checked. have u checked the pvc valve to see if its sucking up any oil.

no more pcv, have a catch can and the head was fully refreshed. seals are new and fully checked. mild head work.

alot of people say those rings suck. people will have that problem then they put honda rings on there forged pistons and it goes away. oem runs the best tolerances. do a leak down test before u do any thing drastic. even if your compression #'s are good the third/oil ring could be no good

yeah i did a compression test all cyl's were @ 205psi.
the rings suck eh, well for F*ck sakes. if i hadda know'n that i woulda done the oe rings.

those #'s are good but the oil ring could be bad. do a leak down test to see if its in the bottom end or the top end. u just never know

funny thing.

well I was driving the car around today and it completely stopped burning oil, so i thought I'd check to see if there was any oil left in it. about 1/4 quart low, so i topped it and hasn't bunt any since. must have decided to seat,

yeah ran on stock computer for about 500km's then installed the turbo ect. and went to the dyno.
