Default engaging first gear weird sound

When I am in between two walls or something and try to put the car into first and begin to let out the clutch there is a weird sound. It sounds like I have too much gear. If you have driven a pick-up with a 5speed and tried to start out in 2nd and it makes that rattleing noise I guess that is what I am getting.

My question is what could this be, distributor, or timing or whatever else anyone can think of?

Anyone had this happen to them?

How did you solve the problem?

thanks

Is it a knocking noise? That's not good...
