About the only way to tell for sure is to try it out.

Hi,
It was working. The car was a junked GSR that I'm taking the engine out of.
So we started the GSR and it ran fine. Granted, only for about 10
mins. or so. Just to see if the engine would turn over. We couldn't drive it because it's totaled. While doing the swap I noticed some corrosion
on the ecu and my buddy, who works at an acura dealer says,"It got wet
you should chuck it. Thats what we do at work." We send back to
honda as warrentied. But I don't have that option here.
So you think it should be fine even with a little chalking on the inside?

Thanks,
Guy

Well you can try cleaning the terminals off a bit, but like he said, the only way to tell is to try it out and be sure that everything else is OK before condemning the ECM, pretty expensive part to buy just to use as a trail and error.

My JDM PW0 has all kinds of white chalky crap all over the plugs and it works fine.

If it got wet while it was powered, it probably shorted itself to death. If it was not connected to power, it may be fine. Open it, clean it up (Tessco dot com has some "Rid Ox" which is good for cleaning up oxidized parts)..
