2006 Accord EXL ECU computer location?
Can anyone tell me where this is located in the car and if I get a used one from a salvage yard will work or does the dealer have to program it to the car? If so why?

The ECU is behind the lower center pocket.
To replace the ECU correctly you will have to take it to a dealer to have it programmed. All of your key codes for the immobilzer are stored in the ECU and also any used ECU will have the wrong VIN stored and may cause issues if your car is inspect VIA computer like NC is. So you can use a used ECU but it may cause issues.
BTW what is wrong with your current ECU, they usally dont go bad.

Re: 2006 Accord EXL ECU computer location? (MustangLX6.0)
I got a few inches of water in it by fresh water flood. It did not go over the door thresholds but it was just enough to get about 2 inches on the passenger side. From being towed to my house the water rolled over to the drivers side. No dash water all just floorboard. I have a feeling the insurance is going to total it and Im weighing out maybe purchasing it back and repairing it my self to keep it.
I'm assuming the computer is bad as when you turn on the ignition all the of dash lights flash off and on etc. including the seatbelt and check engine etc. but the battery is also dead so it may just be that.
I was just trying to see where it was at if it could have possibly been wet. The car is a really sweet exl and I would hate to have it go if I can save it.
Where exactly is the lower center pocket?

Remove the center lower covers (A).
Remove the duct (B).
Disconnect the ECM/PCM connectors (C).
Remove the bolts (D), then remove the ECM/PCM (E).
Install the ECM/PCM in the reverse order of removal
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To remove you just have to remove those covers which are on the DS if you goto the gas pedal its to the right of it and same on the PS of the car remove those 2 covers and the ECM will be right there.
Also im not sure where you live or how insureance is but on an 06 accord it would take alot of damage to total. You might be better off taking it to a dealer and letting them get an estimate for you.
