Default ECU Problems!

I just did an ls/vtec in my teg, and my b18B block doesnt have a knock sensor, and I am running a p72 obd1 gsr ecu. So the ecu needs a knock sensor otherwise it will be blowing a code. Now this ecu I have had hondata in it before, but the guy took it out before he sold it to me. Now I got a shop to burn me a Mugen program into my ecu, to bypass the knock sensor. And I get my car back. And the thing runs like crap. Its blowing black smoke outta the exaust, and I burnt almost a full tank only going for an half and hour drive, the car is running rich I think, like pig rich, I cant even start the thing, it bogs down, and I have to rev it to start it.

What do I do to fix this??? Get rid of the mugen program and go out and buy a knock sensor????

Yeah ditch the Mugen program and get Hondata. Then you'll need to get it tuned, but you'll save a fortune in gas, get more power, and your car will run smoother.

It's only a couple hundred for the s100. Sounds like it'll pay for itself w/ the gas you're going through. As an interim solution you may consider lowering your fuel pressure.

Welcome to a Mugen chip, they all run pig rich since they aren't meant for stock engines. Trust me, your engine is stock compared to the engine that chip was designed for.

You can fool the ECU into thinking you have a knock sensor with a resistor. Cut your J1 jumper and try that.
