Default LS/Vtec..Good or not worth it?

I have a a 95 civic 2dr and i swapped a b18b1 in it. I am now considering doing the ls/vtec on it. I have heard some mixed things about it and was wondering what your opinion is on it. If i get some good information on it and there seems to be more bad things about it then good i will just buy a GSR b18c1 longblock and sell my b18b1. Hope to get some replys so i can decide on what to do.

It's worth it if you do it right and make sure that you have a good amount of money to do so.

I'd get the b18c1.

i have also heard mixed feelings about LSVtecs, however, i know that when fully built they are pretty good motors. But if the job is half-assed, expect to be breaking parts constantly.

The only problem I have w/ LS/Vtec proponents is that they often exaggerate the output of frankenmotors. The additional 1.8mm of stroke amounts to a whole 37cc of displacement picked up which isn't much and there are several sacrifices to be made for that extra 37cc. It's cheaper than a b18c swap initially but doing it right costs a pretty penny and I'd personally bet on a healthy b18c to outlast a comparable frankenmotor any day of the week and 2x on Sunday.
