Default Any substitute for a knock sensor?

My knock sensor is busted, and its gonna be a few days before the new one comes in. I was wondering, what kind of signal does the computer usually get from this sensor? is it possible to fool the computer into thinking it is still hooked up to it?

you ECU should go into safe mode to keep you from damaging your motor. I think it probably retards the timing among other things. From what i know there isn't a short term fix aside from getting a new knock sensor.

You can get your ECU reprogrammed so that it does NOT look for a KS. If you know who I am..I provide this service....

what ECU are you using?

Well, i am looking into getting my ECU done... but i don't want to have any downtime while its out of the car. On ebay some guy was selling Mugen PR3 programs, just the chip for $50 or $75. Katman, if you will sell me a chip let me know. I have a PW0 by the way. I'm not too worried about the knock sensor, because i've already ordered one, but i seriously need a higher rev limit. I have a set of cams, and i like the sound of the Mugens 10k limit. Let me know what you can do. BTW, tell john thanks for the mount.

Do you still have your SOHC Si ECU?
you know..you could run that during the down time of your Vtec ECU getting reprogrammed. It won't hurt anything on your engine....
Oh..you have a PWO ECU eh? I only have 1 program for that particular ECU..
hit me up on email...

10-4 on the message to john.
