knock sensor
You'll need to drill and tap into the back of your block, specifically where the block and head meet. Reference GSR or SI blocks for where the factory installs the knock sensor.
If you add the knock sensor you'll need to add one wire into the ecu to the corresponding pin at the ecu junction. You'll need to purchase a p72 or p30 ecu that uses the knock sensor.
There isnt any real benefits to running the knock sensor with hondata. If you are tuning that is a different case. I feel that the knock sensor provides a bit more information in the tuning puzzle. It will let you know if your timing/fuel changes are causing any pre-ignition or detonation.
Unless you want to go through a considerable amount of work, and are tuning your car yourself then dont waste your time.

there must be something I am misunderstanding.
if I have a knock senor, it will adjust the timing when knocking happens. So in a boosted application, it should help to prevent detonation occurred (in some case).
I am going to tune the engine with Hondata (by the dealer), but I just thought it will be safer if I have a knock sensor installed.
Please correct me if I am wrong, I am trying to learn more about FI...
