Default ECT sensor/CEL 6 question. Not usual symptoms

I know this has been covered but no bullshit I spent the last 4 hours looking through them all. And some of those problems don't match my problems.

My car is a 96 integra with a b16.
Couple months ago my cel turned on for ect.
And the sensor I had was pretty beat up with no plug just straight wired to the prongs. But had no problems for couple years. So I figured maybe time to change. So I put in a new one and solder new plug and reset ecu and it went away.
And this morning it happened again.

Now every thread I read everyone's car is either not starting or staying on or driving rough and so on.
But mine have the same problem as the last one.
When cel turns on it idles at 1500 with no vtec. That's it.
Gauge is at normal temp. Car drives smooth. Fan turns on.
No air in coolant. Basically every other symptoms I read I don't have. Except the high idle and no vtec.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The ect has nothing to do with your cluster. It is used by the ecu to determine how much fuel to use. Unplug it and check for the 5volt reference. And also check that is has a good ground. With a Multimeter!!

Thanks for the reply
Last time I changed the sensor I checked the volt and it was good. Haven't touched anything wire wise since but I'll check again. And you meant by good ground the ground wire from the sensor right

A really stupid question since everything seems to be checking out fine. Is there any difference between B series and D series ect sensors ? Cuz I pulled it off a D series. That's the only different thing I did
