Default dz16z

When I bought my 92 Civic Si, I was also given the original dz16z engine, that had seized on the previous owner. Having it, I feel like I should do something with it. Down the road, I'll be pulling in enough cash for a supercharger, and would like to rebuild it. I have a great relationship with the shop I take my car to, and was thinking about having them rebuild it. However, if I'm rebuilding a sohc, with the intention of supercharging it, what should I be replacing on it?

I'm not looking into a b series engine, just because I'm sinking cash into modifications for the engine thats in my car right now, which is a dz16z. I don't want have to replace everything if I decide to rebuild the old engine. thanks

The actual engine code is D16Z6. If you're spending the money, you might as well get rods, rings, block guard, and a full valvetrain.

I've got a JR supercharger for sale if your interested, about 10K miles on it, still in good condition. email me if your interested. If you want good stuff, get some ENDYN internals and use Honda bearings.

Where can I find these parts? I'm having troubles finding sites on the internet. I drive my car pretty hard, as all my friends drive faster cars, and like to race. I'm affraid I cutting the life short on the engine I have in there now (whether or not that is going to happen), I'd like to build the d16z6 towards more high end driving, that pushes more hp. my knowledge of engines is shady at best though, mechanics is something I just recently got into, but enjoy a lot. Are there any good books that explain vtecs? How to rebuild them? Thanks again.
