Default Do honda engines burn oil?

The past couple of times that I have changed the oil in my car only three quarts come out. Five fills up the oil pan to the top mark on the dipstick. I dont ever check the dipstick, I figured that the car is brand new (20,000 miles) and it souldnt be a problem. Whats going on?

High RPM driving burns a lot of oil. The VTEC system seems to burn a little also. 5 Quarts sounds a tad bit high? anyone? I know LS take 4, GSR 4.5 ?
