Difference in differential cable b16s vs LS hydro?

Difference in differential cable b16s vs LS hydro?
Is there a difference in a cable b16 diff and a hydro Ls diff
long story story short i gave my buddy my b16 diff to drop off at a shop to get welded ad we got into a fight and i dont think im going to get it back anymore. But i got a tore down LS transmission of his and i was just wondering if i could go drop this diff off instead? i would just compare the diffs my self but well i dont have both in my possession and if i did i would have this problem.
