so sick of searching about cable b-series trannies!!
Ok it seems like a simple question to me, how do i determine if an s1 cable transmission is from an ls or b16? I've seen tons of info about the gear ratios, but how do i know for sure its a b16/ls???

There is no way to tell. You have to crack the case open, count the teeth on the gears, and do the math. Most likely its an Ls so dont bother. And when driving it, the ls will be at about 2500-2800rpm's in fifth gear going 60mph. The b16 will be around 3100-3400rpm's going 60.
