You're in luck! the '98 ex is d16y8 sohc vtec already.

Just an fyi before you get flamed.. vtech is a phone and you can't put a dual overhead cam head on a single overhead cam block.

There are lots of great swaps available. use the search

Like Daedus said, its not possible to put a dohc head on a sohc block.. You can get a zc motor which is a dohc non-vtec d-series motor or you can go to a b-series motor if you want dohc..

And why do you want to go dohc anyway, there are plenty of cheaper ways to make your sohc quick..

its gonna take alot more than a motor swap to beat sum rednecked muscle cars. wit the money it would cost u to put together a swap motor you can just go turbo wit your sohc.
just my .02 cents

You.. have a lot of reading and researching to do before you tackle something such as an engine swap or turbo install. Btw, there is no B16C.

http://www.turbod16.com
you will not do a swap, you will turbo your d.

Lets see gsr swap with bolt ons 190whp if your lucky---$3000 ATLEAST

Custom turbo kit on ur d good for 200-220whp----$1000, you do the math.

If you sleeved a b18c and only bored it to a 1.6L then it would be a b16c..

But I dont think that is what he meant..
