Default Newbie : SOHC swap

Might be dumb questions but here goes?
98 SOHC civic ex (vtec)

Is it possible to swap a D16 head for a B16 head but keep the block? would I have to transfer over the rods, pistons? and does the tranny, axles and ECU have to be changed? or can I leave that alone.
Thanks for any suggestions.

nope
rule of thumb
d-series to d-series
b-series to b-series

i.e. your ex vtec head on a non-vtec block would work
