cutting springs
no real secret. just cut out a coil. but be warned!!! you will lose any sence of ride or handeling you ever had in your car. it ***** up your suspension BAD!
i saw something that was suposed to 'lower' the car using stock springs without cutting basicaly what is is a set of U-bolts that go around and compress a coil or two.

chill son.... dont be driving anywhere near me if you decide to cut the springs.... the only laugh and giggles that you would be getting is. if you wrap yourself around a tree...
but in al honesty.... like the guy said.. you can use "clamps" to compress a couple of the coils together.. essentially making it smaller.. but still, i think its a bad idea...

Don't even waste the time. If you're going to be driving on the streets, it is not safe and shouldn't be done. If it's a beater, just leave it alone and drive it as is. Why would you want to make a crappy car even worse?

Cutting a few coils off is like ************. It's not as fun as getting your **** slobbed, but it's a quick job. If you have a dremel, then use a cut-off wheel and it should take about 3 min. to cut the coils off each spring. Remember, only cut a few of the Progressive coils at the top of the perch off. If you cut the bottom ones, then your shock will bottom out because there is no stiff spring left.
By eliminating too many progressive coils, your car will just not be able to absorb as many little bumps and it will compress faster to hit the stiff linear spring under the progressive ones. So you get:
1. A little stiffer ride
2. And you feel the light bumps a little more
3. It's not going to be that much more bouncy if you only take off a few coils
The best would be to cut a few coils off a sport spring, cause its not that stiff to begin with, but who knows. Just be careful and dont cut too many off. If it's a beater car, wtf, cut em. Peace
