im on my way out to drop my block off to get a bore and hone. the guy at the shop tells me to bring the block, main, girdle, and pistons. im just curious why he would need the main and the girdle if he didnt ask for the rods or the crank.

 

because before boring/honing they torque the mains

 

theyre trying to steal your block and need the mains to complete it...

when the block is bored, its needs to be bolted down into place on a shaft by the mains
