CTR .25 oversized pistons...worth it?
I am trying to decide wich pistons to buy. CTR standard or oversized? please someone explain how much more power i would be lookin at by oversized pistons.
Also wich would you recomend...gettin stainless steel valves..or titanium retainers?
Help please??!?

All things equal oversized pistons won't make any more power than std bore.
The reason to get oversized is to clean up the bore and make sure it is true round and has the proper hone marks for ring seating. When building a motor I always use overbore pistons so I can have the machine shop bore the block to my piston-wall clearances.

Thats what i was thinkin about...just boring it to be safe...but visibly there is nothing wrong with the cylinders. The block came from an ACURA tech. and he said it only need new rings. I just dont wanna spend the 75$ to bore it
You're upping the displacement by less than 10cc's, or basically about .6%.
So yeah I guess the displacement goes up a hair, as does compression, but it isn't really enough to make much of a difference. You do it to make sure the cylinder is round and that you're going to get a good seal.

Yea your compession will go up rouqhy 0.05:1 for every .25mm over overbore.... I always go overbore just because it's good to be working with new cylinder walls.. Why go cheap when you are ripping your motor apart.. Have fun
