Crankshaft/Oversized thrust washer?
ok, I have a B20B sitting at the machine shop awaiting final assembly for my DC. I brought them the LS crank, rods and new B20Z pistons for the B20B4 Block.
Upon bringing them the crank, one of the lead techs said he was concerned about where the thrust washers would sit. There is a small ridge (less than 1/32 in guesstimation) towards the outside away from the center of the crank where the thrust washers are to go.
The crank IMO looks fantastic in every way. No "hotspots" or scarring anywhere on the journals. My question is, will that small ridge be of any problems to the rotating assembly or is it a part of how the crank is made and was meant to be there? He had mentioned about milling it down flush, but is proceeding with caution about that simply because of the uncertainty of availability of "over-sized" thrust washers.
And part two in doing this will it make the engine more or less unreliable due to the possibility of "crankwalk" like a DSM?
Please help me figure this out, I am on motor number 4. My DC has sat more than it has run.
Thanks Guys!
Nate

you're gonna have to post pics. it's like posting a thread saying, "my friend at the bar is saying to bang this chick, He says she's super hot. What should I do?" How do we know what she looks like?
