Compression ratio for nitrous in b18c1
Hey guys.
I recently purchased a b18c1 to throw into a crx si, and to be honest, im running out of money. Being an 18yr old kid, still in school, and doing the part time thing, money is pretty hard to come by. Right now, im the following parts away from having the engine together/running in the car
full gaskets
pistons
rods
obd1 dizzy
obd1 alt
obd1 p72 ecu
conversion harnesses
My initial plan was to turbo it right away, but with only about 1000$ left in the piggy bank at the moment (usually have about 400$ a month to play with, but june 25th is the absolute latest the car can be together)
My question is this. I think i have a pretty good hand on the electrical part of the build. I have several wet nitrous kits kicking around from days gone by. I figured, since i dont have money for the turbo right now, why not do a fairly decent size shot
of nitrous.
The car is going to be 99% track car, and will be run on Vp race fuel only. Im a mechanic for a dirtbike race team, and get Vp at cost, so this works out great. My question, is what compression pistons should i go with. Should i go 9.1:1 and spray, and if my power isnt that great, just suck it up until i can turbo, or go high compression, and spray, and have to buy new pistons when the time comes? Thanks guys
Chris
Ps. Does anyone have a link to a good write up on plasti-gauging?
