... i am planning on building an engine for nitrous but i dont know what is involved... it is going to be on a crv b20b/z in an integra... i would like 75-100 shot... can all you nitrous people give me some suggestions on what to build?... i was thinking i/h/e and the rest could be mostly stock... am i wrong?... should i build the internals too... lemme know... thanks...

 

If the engine is going to be apart why not throw in some stronger High compression pistons and stonger rods. Nitrous loves high compression. Also many nitrous people say that the valve's should be upgraded too. I don't know much about that though.

 

ive always wondered why nitrous loves compression. Isnt nitous pretty much like a turbo and requires lower compression to help prevent detonation? I run a 75 on my h22, but no changes in the rods and pistons as of yet. However, i dont street race so it doesnt go through much use at the track.

A purge kit is not that crutial. All it does it vent the gas, but what you need is a bottle heater to keep yours runs consistent. But to tell you the truth, I think most important thing to a nitrous setup is a progressive controller. I have the NX one that you can set a starting power and a final power. That allows you to use it in first gear without traction problems, but most importantly, it tremendously lowers the stress on your engine. I got mine brand new from ebay for $390, I believe its my greatest investment for my nitrous setup even though I have the bottle warmer, purge kit, guages, .....etc... Hope this helps
