Default compression is down

ok i did a compression test about 2 months ago when i did my water pump. then it was at 185-170-170-170........... now i recently did one because the car hasnt been pulling the times it was in the beginning of the season. now, 185-175-165-155. can anyone tell me where i am loosing compression at? is it the piston rings? or maybe could it even be a leak in the headgasket that could cause it??? also if it is the piston rings what procedure would i go through to replace the rings since i am replacing rings should i just get a set of CTR pistons or an aftermarket set???

juicedricer.......with this user name I'm going to assume you are spraying that engine with stock internals and you are wondering why you are loosing compression.......mmmmmmmmm.......think about it for a second.....

while the engine will take nitrous for a while you are defiantly speeding up the wear process by using it. first things to go are usually rings and valves......

good luck

thing is the nitrous is not even installed yet i was waiting until i replaced the block with a new head to run it. and send the old head to a machine shop to get a valvejob n cams installed ect ect.

but the car does get a heavy beat down when i drive it at night sometimes.

maybe you shouldent beat it down so hard.......are you sure your doing the compresison test correctly? engine warmed up, ECU fuse pulled out, press the gas pedal to WOT, crank 5-6 times......

why do you need a new head, is damage unrepairable? If the motor was running somewhat ok it should be fixed by resurfacing it. did it torch the deck?

what i am doing with the old head is sending it out for a P&P job and 5 angle and buying maybe a set of EF-1 cams or either crower. that way i will have the head being done while i can still drive. only car i have to drive.

yea my freind refered to me fisher machine shop in edison. i think the rate is 250 for a dohc motor with P&P and 5 angle not bad for that price. but i have heard for certain cams is good to get it ported for the spec of the cam so now i will have to choose what cams i am getting.

have to admit cant beat that price, hell considering most shops charge $175-225 for a valve job alone dont know how he's surviving on that price.

well thats the price i was told so we'll see when i get there i am going with my freind who knows the guy personally too. my freind (also a honda-tech *****) got his head decked there and ported polished and port matched the manifold and TB there also. so if his car runs 13s all motor like we expect on street tires then definately he will get my business.
