code 8 top dead center problem

I got this code so i replaced the distributor and the the light went away. when i pluged the jumper the engine light flashes a code 8 again. What gives ? anyone have any insight on this, searched but didnt find anything.

its an obd1 d16z6 in a 93 cx. code 8 was on so we replaced the distributor and the light turned off. no engine light is on but when we plug in the jumper we get a code 8 still what gives ?

disconnect the back up fuse for 3mins and then recheck. it is now a temporary dtc and wont throw the light till it has a problem 2 more times.

make sure all the pins etc in the plugs are pushed in all the way on the dizzy plug/harness and make sure all the pins on the ecu are all the way in.
