Default Code 61 P0133

Hi guys, I have a 99 ek hatch with a 00 b16a2 swap complete with wiring harness and ECU. I have the slow response code right now and I have changed the front o2 twice and tried changing the ECU already. I just got done bringing it to the Exhaust shop with no sign of any leaks. I'm stumped and need to get this bar'd in two weeks. Dc headers are the only mod besides an intake. Timing has been checked and is good. Why would this code keep popping on?

P0133 is pretty much reset the ecu, see if the code comes back and if so replace the sensor.

It could be a bad connection between the sensor and ecu. Try checking resistance on the white O2 wire, on the harness side, with the sensor disconnected to ecu pin C16 also unplugged. There's not a "value" on this reading that I know of. You normaly check it for continuity or signal voltage.

Since you're not getting an O2 heater code you could do the the same test on the blk/wht wire to C1 as a referance.

I have reset this thing numerous times with it always coming back. =\ what am I checking voltage for and what's the value supposed to be?

Not voltage, resistance.

If you have one or know somebody who does you could also try another known working ecu.

I tried another ECU already, that one last tree times as long as mine before the code comes on again.

Timing is in check as well. Any other advice? I need to BAR in less than two weeks

Replace the O2 Sensor, the PCM has determined that the rate of change on the front O2 is too slow, indicating a defective catalyst. replace the O2 sensor.

What brand an part number are you using for the replaced O2's?

You've said you replaced the O2 more than once and the ecu. Those are two of the three items needed for the circuit. The third is the wiring.

I'm not going to quote myself again...you need a digital multimeter and need to know how to use it. If you don't have a meter take the car to someone who can trouble shoot electrical systems...or keep replacing items randomly.

I'm using a denso plug and play sensor. I'll work on the wiring and check it out.

I've replaced the front sensor twice with the same code....

Is this considered frayed or is it how it's supposed to be ?

You will need to fix that with a silver grade solder. Any corrosion in the signal circuit could produce that code. A O2 sensor stuck lean code is more likely with a chafed/damaged harness.

I've completely changed the engine harness with a new working harness. No exhaust leaks, new sensors , two ecus, and I still get the code..... Wth can it be now -___- anyone think its the DC headers placement of the o2 sensor? Where does the oem o2 sensor sir on the stock header ?
