Default Clutch problem

I have a big problem with my clutch. The peddle is very loose and dosn't seem to be building any pressure.

At first I noticed that the peddle starting making a squeaking noise when depressed. About a week later I noticed that the peddle would stay down after I push it and I would have to lift it up with my foot. Well, today on the freeway after I pushed the peddle it stayed down while the car was still in gear.

I checked the clutch fluid resevoir and it's empty. Where are some places that I could look for leaks?

Thanks I really need help.

Check your clutch master cylinder, the seals can go bad. this is the most common problem.

i would go throught the steps of elimination, check the simple things first and move your way up. I would check the slave cylinder, then the clutch master cylinder and so on until you discover where the problem is. To replace either cylinder does not cost much and is easy to do it yourself, I paid $86.00 for both the slave and master cylinders, and it took me about a half an hour to change both. And remember sometimes these cylinders go bad from the inside so you don't necessarily know when or if they are bad. good luck to you, gloria

Hell yea, I checked my helms manual page 12-3 and I think that it is my slave cylinder. It looks really wet. If this is the problem I will have saved a lot of money and would like to thank you all.

Imagine what would have happened if I would have went to AAMCO. I would have been violently raped.

Where did you buy the slave and master cylinders? Would they affect shifting by any chance?

I haven't purchased it yet but it looks like my slave cylinder is leaking. I will change both master and slave cylinders tomarrow. Helms if ******* rad. It looks too easy to change from the manual. Chictunner97ex told me of a place in compton that sells them for $86. I will do everything tomarrow.

I will check the manual on bleading the system.

Vatozone carries them pretty cheap also.

Make sure you bleed the system really good!! Even when you think it's finished it usually isn't.
