Default Clutch master cylinder question

So I have been having some clutch problems for some time now and I think the cause may be my clutch master cylinder. I was looking at it the other day and it appears that the rod on the CMC that attaches to the clutch pedal is somewhat loose. Is this normal, I would have thought it should feel much tighter thus the reason I think it needs to be replaced. Any thoughts?

CMC is bad when you see fluid seeping past the seals on the inside of the car. Thats a common problem. I dont know about it being loose part though...

I would try adjusting the clutch pedal first from inside the car. If this doesn't cause a change for the better, then I would check out the slave cylinder. The cmc might not be the issue, but it is a possibility.

I have tried adjusting the clutch multiple times, I have also had Honda adjust it once but it does not fix the problem. The specific problem I have is that the catch point is extremely high and the clutch pedal feels like it sticks somewhat when it is fully dperessed. I may try to replace the slave cylinder as that is a easy job and the slave is only 45 bucks I think.

More like $55, and the whole CMC is just $20 more than the slave, but no point in spending money if it doesn't fix your problem. Unless your clutch is fried, you really should be able to adjust the catch point with the rod behind the pedal. I'm sure you've tried rotating it in both directions?
