Clacking Noise
Well Guys been readin around and you guys seem to know what your talking about
I have quick question for a fellow 4-cylinder, thing is it is a Toyota 22RE.
Before you skip this post please read and give some advice, thank you
I am having this clacking noise comin from my engine. Don't think its valve train since I checked the valve lash already and any type of play. I just figured out that where I park isn't flat and I have been getting false readings for oil level dohhhh. I was a running almost 2.5 quarts low on an engine that takes about 5 qts. Is 2.5 quarts considered low enough to spin a bearing, or just enough to run dry just up top and mess with valve train?
When I feather the throttle at 2000 rpms, the noise it makes is fast, but slow enough that I could replicate the sound with my mouth.
Tried the pull each spark plug wire and see if sound decreases but no go still fairly loud when feathering the throttle. Any ideas would be great till then it be sittin. Thank you guys for listening to my problem.
