theres a little 2 pin plug under the dash by the glove box.
short that connector and the check engine light will blink.
long blink - 10s
short blink - 1s

Thanks that site was helpful, showing the connectors and such. Mt final question is, I shorted the wires, and now when I turn the ignition "on" but don't start the car it blinks once and it is what I would Imagine a long blink. But when I actually turn over the car and start it it continualy blinks at the ame rate? would it be the first code when the car isn't running?

Correct the on position do not start the car.

What was the code it gave you before starting the car?

one long blink I think? only seeing one blink makes it hard to determine if it was the long or short one. But it definatly wasn't really quick

Yuck....ECU usually. Try to find a local H-T'er that will let you borrow theirs for a few hours to test on your car.

EDIT: WRONG WRONG SPADE.....Solid light is ECU......THINK first ya boob.
