hi, its me again. i connected all the wires that needed to be hooked up and the check engine light still comes on. does anyone know how i could find what is the problem? what do i need to do to make the codes come on? it's a 97 gsr swap. thanks

you dont need a scanner
get a paperclip
here.
To check the code, Take off the passenger side kick panel and look above your ECU (the metal box). find the green rubber housing
with a blue connector (looks like the end of a telephone cord). Get a piece of wire like a paperclip, and
bridge both connections. Now turn your key just before you have to start the car, watch your CEL and get the code.
If the CEL blinks fast, that stands for 1, 2, 3, etc. If it is a long blink, that stands for 10, 20, etc. The code
will recycle, just in case you don't get it the first time. also, there could be multiple codes.

Yeah, although the motor is 1997, the car is what year? If the car is 1995-below, then a paper clip or Honda jumper plug tool will do fine. What year is the car, and what ECU are you running? Please say an OBDI ECU of some sort.
