ya this idea is pretty lame. if you have dirty black filters, change your oil. or like the guy said, you have something else wrong.

now changing the oil a lot, theres nothing wrong with that. wish i could afford to change it more often. if you can get cheap filters, ebay em or something, then use the money to get oil.

you can also apply the logic from the 'every other oil change' rule. obviously the filter can withstand two oil cycles, so its fine. the oil, thats the blood and lifeline, thats what needs attention.. you can filter out old dirty oil till it looks brand new, but the additives are worn and gone. you need fresh oil for a happy motor :D

Why don't you change your air filter and fuel filter and tires too while you're at it?
