get quality filters rather than cheap filters and changing them often. Quality filters have better filament so they filter smaller particles.

It's better to change the oil more than just the filter.
why?
the filters dont get that dirty and clog
if they do you have a much mroe serious problem.
just change them everytime you change your oil

try this, change your oil and out a new filter. after three thousand miles change both, but cut open the filter and save it to compare how much dirtier or cleaner it looks when you change it again after two oil changes. give it a try, and you'll have the answer for your self!

um the filter is supposed to get dirty guys
thats the POINT to keep that **** out of your oil.
once the filter becomes so dirty its CLOGGED then you have a problem
changing it every week dosent make any diffrence.
and like i said if you are finding that **** in your oil you have a more serious problem.

get 'em. Kamin! but yeah, i would just run a good filter. cheap ones are held together with string, they dont filter well. ive seen a Fram explode on a car before. and no, oil wont just pour out, the oil sits in the pan. almost no oil at all will come out of a Honda filter, since it has a check valve
arn't you gonna have to change the oil anyway? when you undo the filter the oil is going to pour out like a ****, i thought
don't get STP, they do not filter very well
also, compare STP to honda's filter, STP has 5 holes where honda has 8 (?) holes and the quality is much better. Instead of always changing it, just do it with every oil change

thanks for all the replies, i still think im gonna do it at least 3 times between changes, everytime i take off a filter, if i put some gas in it and 'rinse' it out, its reaaaly black, i just figured i would give the engine a flush by changing filters and oil more often....

there is little to no benefit in changing a perfectly good oil filter
3 times between each oilchange = 4 filters (plus the one at the change)
that should equal out to around $12, where you can buy a perfectly good one at honda for what? $8(?)

i hope you're kidding, fuel contamination in the oil will affect the oils ability to lubricate properly.

put in DuraLube - then you won't ever have to change the filter at all, better yet, don't put oil in the motor; the penetrating chemical makes it possible.

Amsoil or Purolator are supposed to be very good for filtration (micron size of particles) and holding capacity. I've been using the K&N oil filters and I'm very happy with 'em.
If you're really concerned about filtration, look into the Amsoil double remote filter. Two filters, one a full-flow and the other a bypass filter.

Who has the link to that Prelude owner's page where they did the filter comparison. I thought I remember the STP being identical, internally to the Bosch. Both were considered pretty good quality. The STP I think was the "best bang for the buck" in the group.
But still, there is something about an OEM unit that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
