HELP: Cam Timing to Pass Emmissions!!!!!!!!
Hi, I recently failed the hydrocarbon portion of the MA. Emmissions test. The emmisions affecters in my setup are Rocket's small grind B20 Cams(.420 lift/262 duration). Set to -5 exhaust, -3 intake. After my initial failure I went back with the exhaust cam at 0. This was close to passing. Then I went back with the exhaust cam advanced 4. and the AFC leaned 7%. I failed worse than before. I have since started running 87 and threw in a bottle of "guaranteed to pass". Any Ideas as to where to set the cams? Need help!

If you are only failing HC and don't have to worry about NOX, set your gears at 0. Run the "guaranteed to pass" stuff as instructed, burn throught the whole tank with the additive, then refill the tank with 87 octane, Advance your timing as far as you can but still in spec. Change your spark plugs, get hottest plugs you can safely run. Then on hte way to test run the car for at least 20 miuntes and try to open it up WOT on the freeway a little to heat up teh cat. THe hotter the cat the better it works. THen leave the car running until they test it. DONT let it cool down.
