CEL code 5 map sensor problem???
I've got a 95 civic vx with the check engine light showing code 5 . I've replaced the map sensor twice and reset the cel many of ways and yet the light still comes on. Any other solutions to why it'd still be on?
Either there's an open in the wiring or your ecu is bad. Turn the ignition on without starting the car and check for voltage at any of the three map sensor connector pins. Should be 4.5-5 volts on one of them. Then check for ground on one of the other two. If those check out ok you will need to find out which pin at the ecu connectors your map sensor signal wire goes to and check for continuity from the third pin that doesn't have voltage or ground... back to that ecu connector pin.

I had same issue bought brand new one from honda w/same issue to follow. So i ended up zip tying the map sensor plug on to the sensor itself making it a tighter connection and problem went away. Idk why it worked but i only found it by playing w/ sensor plug while hooked up and noticed engine tone/rpm changed while pushing around on it.

I have... I'm not able to try all of the suggestions right away because of my work schedule. Throttle body gaskets on the way from cali being that advance auto doesn't carry one for a vx and going to test connection on map sensor plug while i'm at it.
