Default map sensor problems

i have a b16a3 in a 92 civic hatch and my ecu has always stored code 3 (map sensor, check sensor, and wiring) but ive checked the wiring and its fine...but for some reason it keeps the code stored. ive reset my ecu numerous times and its still there. there is no CEL but the code is stored. what im trying to get to is im getting a new map soon and if that doesnt work (which would rule out the map sensor malfunctioning) would the missing link help out any even if i dont have turbo?

um, how do you reset the ECU?

if the code is stored, it should dissappear.

when does it reappear? after a CEL?

or when,

try disconnecting teh battery - that should make it go away...

(along with your radio presets...)

hth,

done that...but when i start the engine again it comes back...no light but the code is there and the engine still acts up at idle....im going to replace the map tomorrow and if that doesnt work im going to try the missing link bypass valve even though im not boosting...but it seems weird to me that i have to replace the map i was talking to a friend at honda and he says he has replaced maybe 3 map sensors in the past 7 years maybe its just a fluke.... thanks for the input though
