I just received a CEL while driving my car. I pulled the code and it was 22, VTEC. The VTEC Solenoid was replaced 6mos to a yr ago. I called a local shop and they didnt have any ideas. Also, I looked in a chiltons manual and couldnt find any suggestions either.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The car is a 92 civic with a JRSC @9lbs. It's using the JR FMU, no hondata, etc.

 

I think 22 is the VTEC oil pressure switch. The VTEC solenoid would have been code 21.

 

try changing the green switch on the solenoid... also check your oil pressure. check your wiring at the ecu and make sure the switch is still grounded.

 

examine the wiring running to the solenoid and switch..
most likely theres a problem there somewhere.

or yeah it could be the switch itself..

vtec solenoids arent that expensive anyways, if you have to you can just get a used one(with switch built in).

also i'd highly recommend the JR map mod to go with ur setup

 

honda sells the switch and pressure sensor in its housing complete with rubbers, that will fix u up. do it.
