Default car wont start?

hi guys my girl has a 92si, and recently its been acting up a bit. once in a while when you go to start it theres nothing there, it just clicks once and doesnt even turn over. if you give it a minute and keep trying it eventually starts up fine. I'm not sure what it could be, i'm gonna replace the cap & rotor, but does anyone have any idea what it could be? thanks

Check the starter solinoid. May have a bad starter or worn brushes..Maybe bad contacts as well..

Ya, the battery and posts should be the first thing you check. Also, check the wiring to the starter. That was happening to me and all I had to do was recrimp the wire to the starter.

true, i'll check it out. whats the best way to check a battery? i dont think its the battery cause it cranks up strong, just sometimes its tottaly dead so a loose connection or bad starter seems more like it

Go to Advance or Autozone or whatever and get the free charging system check. That would be a good place to start.

The connection to the battery is what I was talking about. Probably a bad wire, ground, or most likely the clamp. My old car did the same thing until I slid a carpenter nail in between the clamp and the post.
