Default car idles at 2k FITV?

car idles between 1800 and 2000 rpms and surges

HELP!!

i covered up the bottom hole in the throttle body and the car idles smooth

i need to get this fixed

Its a vacuum leak. Once you get it fixed, your idle will return to normal.

i had that problem on my car changed the IAV didnt work did the same test you did by covering the hole your talking about and that test if for the FITV (i think its called). its on the bottom of the TP.

is there any way to fix the FITV? i took it apart and screw the white piece back in and i still get the same idle problem

you probably have the port open on the bottle of your throttle body. I believe that it is the coolant bypass, there sould be a valve attachement that bolts to that that covers the vacuum port. Did you recently put on a ported throttle body?

no the TB is not ported and i dont see any ports open, i sprayed carb cleaner in the TB and intake manifold area and there were no signs of a vaccum leak
