Cant Split the case on my D-series

Cant Split the case on my D-series
Alright im trying to get the case to split on my d-series tranny and i can slide he housing and box apart only about an inch but then it just gets hung up on something. Ive read about a counter shaft c-clip but only found info for it on b transmissions. Is there one on the d-series and how the hell do i get it off?

There is one on the D also. You have to take out the large sealing plug at the top (opposite end of the exposed mainshaft) of the case. Put your 3/8" ratchet in there and remove it. Then you have to get a pair of snap ring pliers or a couple of flat blades and spread that beotch apart. Then once it's expanded, tap the case and it should come off with minimal monkeying.

Yea i figured that out i just seen that plug and i thought hell its worth a shot. and whaddya know there it was.
